Sorry I’ve been so absent, guys. And I thank a certain person who shall remain nameless — Valeria, cough, Valeria — for giving me the kick in the pants I needed to come back here. I had been thinking of you guys. Kept saying to myself that I needed to come back here. Then a nap-attack would hit and I wouldn’t.
I am still working on the two new toy designs I told you about the last couple few times we talked, although the one inspired by the coworker is taking the lead right now. Thankfully, hand pain has mostly taken a back seat right now, although I’m trying not to crow too loudly. I’m half-afraid I’ll jinx myself terribly.
Hmmm. I need to name a toy Jinx. I’ll have to save it in my mental database of names. Anywho…
I can’t show you anything new on the designs, although I can say that both have heads and that both of them have finished heads. And that’s all I’m going to say about that.
I have been making my toys, even if I haven’t finished the new designs (slacker, I know). Most recently I finished another York the Owl. This one is a lovely brown made from leftover yarn I had from my very first sweater I ever knit (also my first knit project). I’m half-tempted to give the owl to my Grandpa, who I made the sweater for, but my Grandma already snagged a different owl, so I probably won’t. Right now I’m enjoying having (yet another) owl in the house.
I also have been working on my Oops the Bunny made in Undead Yarn‘s awesome new worsted weight. You might not find any in her shop, though, because my Mom and I tend to snap up her worsted weight pretty quickly. Because of course she dyes it for us, right? If you can get to it before we do, I really advise you do so. I love working with this base.
Kind of creepy. Looks like York the Owl is crocheting on a deflated Oops the Bunny. It’s almost like something out of a horror movie, actually.
Now that I have completely creeped you out with that picture, it’s great talking to y’all again! (But cute owl makes up for creepy deflated bunny, right?)
In case I don’t get here again before Christmas, have a very blessed and Merry Christmas! I work Christmas night, but at least I’m off Christmas Eve, so I can still open presents with the family. Hope y’all have been an amazing Advent so far!
