So September/October has been incredibly busy here at Franciscangypsy Designs. Somehow, I thought it was a brilliant idea to run two pattern tests (Bastet and York) at the same time, while also releasing the Cyrano kit.
Whoa, I realized as Bastet came out of testing and things slowed down a bit on the Cyrano front, that was really stupid. Let’s not do that again.
I had learned my lesson and this girl isn’t one who makes the same mistake twice. Or so I told myself.
Less than a week after I told myself that I would only work on one pattern design at a time, I have already broken my promise to myself.
Apparently, you can’t control when inspiration will hit. Not if you’re me, anyway.
One minute, I was talking to a coworker about a _______ that her niece likes. The next thing I know, I’m yanking a blank piece of paper out of the printer at work and sketching the design that had popped into my head. Yes, apparently the designing bug has now invaded my work place. As soon as I got home from my shift (a 12-hour shift, mind you), I stayed up until way-to-late to fine-tune the rough sketch and to start the design. By the time I finally shut my eyes, I had been up for over 24 hours, but I had a new design well on its way and starting to be built up in yarn.
So, yes, ladies and gents. I have done it again. I have fallen down again and am once again designing two toys at once. Yay, for not learning my lesson! Hopefully, I will be more organized this time…
